We are getting a team of people together to plan and organise the 14-day teaching
curriculum and project. This will involve training sessions for the
Individuals are responsible for there own flight and accommodation costs.
However, hopefully a team of members will be able to work on finding sponsorship
to cover travel, accommodation and resources costs for the group.
We are liaising with UK based and registered charity Centre for Community
Development (based in Kingston) who have experience of sending NGO volunteers
to Sri Lanka, run a Tsunami Regeneration Program and liaise regularly with local Sri
Lankan community groups/NGOs.
Stage 1
Being done by CCD, we don’t need to worry about this
Assess existing services and information given to/knowledge held by children in
Sri Lanka about nutrition and dental hygiene and healthy lifestyles in general.
Stage 2
Collect information, ideas and resources on nutritional health and dental hygiene
etc, in particular for children in post-war, post-tsunami Sri Lanka.
Stage 3
Produce step-by-step plan of 14 day project and produce learning tools and
resources to be used in teaching and promoting good health.
Stage 4
Organise training workshops for volunteers on how to train Sri Lankan local
volunteers and how to run clinics, with nutritionalist, experienced NGOworkers,
advisors on work in Sri Lanka – to cover
